Using the grid and rulers
The Grid command shows or hides the drawing grid in all scenes.
This is the same as turning on Show Grid in the Movie Properties
box (Modify > Movie). Set grid spacing by choosing Modify >
Movie and entering a value into the Grid Spacing box.
You can display rulers along the top and left sides of the
movie. When you move an element on the stage with the rulers
displayed, lines indicating the element's dimensions appear on the
rulers.
Note: To create custom guide or irregular
guides, use guide layers. See Using
guide layers.
To display or hide rulers:
Choose View > Rulers.
To specify the units of measurement for the movie:
Choose Modify > Movie and choose the preferred units.
Regardless of the currently chosen units, you can enter numeric
values in any dialog box in any of the recognized measurement
units. Include the appropriate abbreviation with the entered value
(for example, 0.25" or 10 pt).
