Creating and editing gradients
Use the Colors window to create and edit gradients. The
Gradient tab in the Colors window displays all of the gradients
presently available to Flash.

A gradient is a blended transition between 2 or more colors, up
to 8. The transition can be in linear bands, or concentric
circles. Any color in a gradient can also include a degree of
transparency.
To create or edit a gradient:
| 1 |
Click the Colors window button at the top of the fill or
stroke color palette or choose Window > Colors. |
| 2 |
Click the Gradient tab. |
| 3 |
Do one of the following: |
 |
To create a new gradient, select a gradient to use as a
starting point and click New. |
 |
To edit a gradient, select it. |
| 4 |
Choose Radial or Linear from the Type list. |
| 5 |
Add a pointer to the gradient definition bar by dragging
it from the pointer well; remove a pointer by dragging it
off the bar in any direction.
 |
|
Color pointers define
where colors change in a gradient.
|
| 6 |
Click the color swatch directly below the color picker
window, and select a color for the transition. |
|
Both the pointer and transition are updated
with the color you selected. |
| 7 |
Use the Alpha slider to set the degree of transparency,
from 0 for complete transparency to 99 for some
transparency. Each color in a gradient can have its own
Alpha setting. |
| 8 |
Select and choose settings for additional color
pointers. |
| 9 |
Click Change. |
