mouse is a handheld device that lets you select and move
items on your screen

Resting
your hand on the mouse

your thumb and two rightmost fingers to move the mouse
on your desk.

your two remaining fingers to press the mouse buttons

Click
Press and release the
left mouse button |

Right-click
Press and release the right mouse button |

Double-click
Quickly press and release the left mouse

Drag
Position the mouse pointer over an object on your
screen and then press and hold down the left mouse
button. Still holding down the button, move the
mouse to where you want to place the object and then
release the button |

When you move
the mouse on your desk, the mouse pointer on your screen moves
in the same direction. The mouse pointer assumes different
shapes, such as  or

on its location on your screen and the task you are performing
